| Susie's Bear Hugs (A Ministry of Psalm 151) |
| When we came home from the hospital after our daughter, Susannah Mariah, was stillborn, we were devastated. We had prepared 8 1/2 months to bring home a bundle of joy. Now, we had no baby to hold or cuddle. We took a stuffed animal out of her crib to help ease the grief. We still cuddle with this little lamb. Susie’s Bear Hugs provides new teddy bears to parents who lose a child after 24 weeks gestation age. Although a teddy bear will not take away the pain of losing a child, we hope that Susie’s Bear Hugs can bring comfort to the broken hearts of parents. Currently, Susie's Bear Hugs is a part of the bereavement program at Conway Medical Center, Conway, SC. We look forward to expanding this program to other facilities in the near future. |
